PURE TCP/UDP Server - Version 2.2

This document describes the PURE TCP/UDP Test Server. The server is designed to be used with the PureLoad PURE TCP/UDP tasks.

PURE TCP/UDP Protocol Support

The PURE TCP/UDP tasks supports the PURE TCP/UDP protocol.


Extract the installation tar-file and the complete the following steps:

  1. Install Java or find where Java is installed on your system
  2. Edit the start script: bin/purenet-server.sh
    Specify JAVA_HOME if not already set on your system
  3. Check and edit conf/purenet-server.properties
    Default should be ok in most cases. Also see the comments in the file.
  4. Start the server: bin/purenet-server.sh

Verify server

Try connecting to the server using telnet and manually write the CLOSE command:

% telnet localhost 5001 Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. <b>CLOSE 0 0</b> 0 0 Connection closed by foreign host.

Server properties

Two files are used to control the server:

  1. conf/purenet-server.properties
  2. conf/kig2j.properties

The first file contains general properties for the UDP and TCP servers. Please see the comments in the file for details.

The second file is to control logging levels. Typically no need to change.
